The Magazine subscription generously funded by the PTO has had a meaningful impact on all of Kindergarten this year.

We’ve been able to use both the digital and print versions in so many ways across our curriculum. During our Social Studies units on voting and the branches of government, the digital issues helped bring those concepts to life. In RLA, we used the ‘How to Make Gingerbread Cookies’ issue to support our bilingual writing unit — every student wrote their own bilingual 'how-to' book afterward, and it was such a proud moment for them.

The magazines also helped us teach about important holidays and observances like Memorial Day, Veterans Day, July 4th, President’s Day, Lunar New Year, and MLK Day. We’ll even be using the ‘Could You Be a Lifeguard?’ issue tomorrow to talk about water safety before summer break — a lesson that’s both fun and practical.

We also loved using issues that tied directly into our science units on plants and animal parts. This resource allowed us to connect lessons across subjects in engaging, age-appropriate ways.
